Werewolf History

Pre-Settlement Wolf Lake Region

Before the coming of Europeans to the area, the Uratha who lived in the Wolf Lake area lived, ate, and guarded the area- much like now. The local Ojibwe knew the area that would once be the city of Wolf Lake as the “killing ground”, due to the resence of several very protective Hunter in Darkness packs. They encouraged the reputation of the area as a cursed, haunted place to protect it from human interference. This was because the area had several loci in relatively close proximity to one another.

While Storm Lords and Blood Talons had their members, the Bone Shadows and Iron Masters were of particular note. Both lived on the fringes of Ojibwe society. More than one shaman belonged to either tribe, and some Bone Shadows of the Lodge of Harbingers offered visions and advice to local chiefs as wise hermits. Iron Masters (or, as they were known then, Fire Masters, using the now-disused Flame Gift List rather than the more recently acquired Technology Gift List) sometimes lived among the Ojibwe, often to tend to their Wolf Blooded.
